You can contact members of the Charlottesville City Council and tell them why the City should disapprove this development.

Contact Members of the Planning Commission

You can contact members of the Charlottesville Planning Commission (by emailing Carrie Rainey at raineyc@charlottesville.gov) and tell them why the staff and the commission should continue to disapprove this project and conclude that the proposal is inconsistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan.

What You Can Say

  • Public facilities must be reviewed in accordance with our City's Comprehensive Plan

  • The public streets in this proposal do not follow City guidelines, particularly the T-turnaround at one of the entrances (see photo)

  • The massive amount of fill dirt in the floodplain is unprecedented and the impacts on surrounding areas could be catastrophic

  • The additional parking lot is in the floodway, where no development is allowed
